Ira Gibbons and the rest of the team at Fischer Restoration are amazing! The condo above my unit flooded and the leak impacted our kitchen and dining room ceiling and walls. Fischer was there that day with fans and dehumidifier. Ira walked me through the entire process of assessing the damage, testing for lead, asbestos, determining the repairs and what to expect. He gave me daily updates, kindly and patiently dealt with my incessant questions and shared detailed status of their progress. Ira had our unit dried and ventilated with 5 days (our moisture levels were reading at 99 and described as catastrophic), he's that good! If you are in a moment of crisis and want someone informative, patient, kind and friendly then call Fischer!

Rene, William, Gabriel, and the whole Fisher team have been great! It has been a year long project of figuring out all that has been going on and where the water damage is coming from…but Rene and his team have not given up. The work they have done has made my house look better than it did when they started! Glad he has been willing to stick with me through all of it!

Roberto and Miguel quickly responded to address the leak that affected the walls and floors. They are friendly and highly competent, carefully inspecting the entire area. They brought multiple fans and dehumidifiers and returned daily to assess the situation and determine any necessary actions.

Great job. Rene came out right away and gave us an estimate and they were able to come back the next day and make the repairs. We are pleased with the job they did. Rene came out and followed up to check the completed job and ask if we were satisfied. We would definitely hire Fischer Restoration again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You should avoid doing your own residential electrical work for both safety and regulatory reasons.  Working on wiring without the right amount of experience and training, even for minor repairs, could be dangerous.  Any electrical repairs in the home need to be compliant with safety codes and only a trained electrician is properly equipped to complete the work both safely and legally. A certified electrician will have a license from the state that permits them to perform certain repairs for your home’s electrical system.

This depends on the nature of the project.  For certain small jobs, we can provide a remote estimate through a quick phone call or some pictures or measurements from the homeowner.  With larger and more complex jobs, a site visit will often be necessary.  In that case we generally will be onsite briefly to inspect the situation and then within 24 hours, on average, we will get an estimate returned to you electronically.  If permitting is required for your project, Fischer will outline what is required and help with the process.  This will be addressed in the estimating process.

The best approach if you think you might need an upgrade is to call an electrician to have an assessment.  If you notice visibly worn or fraying wiring, you will need a new panel.  If you need to add circuits into your home, you may need an upgrade.  If your panel is not up to compliance with current Washington building code and safety regulations you should consult with your electrician about an upgrade.  Fuses are commonly used in older homes electrical panels but these are not considered a fire hazard, if you have these you should call an electrician to upgrade you to modern circuit breakers.  If you are planning to install newer electrical equipment in your home, for example, air conditioning, a hot tub, or a new refrigerator, you may need to upgrade your electrical panel to ensure compatibility with the new equipment.

Yes, we love to support non-profits in the Seattle region, from Churches to Volleyball Teams, Little League, and our local roadside clean-up crews; we love to help out where we can. Give us a call at 206-633-2065 or contact us.

Depending on the nature of your project, it is likely that you do not need to be home in order for our electrician to complete your project.  As long as we can clearly align on the scope of work – through Fischer’s detailed estimating process, picture, phone, video communication – and we have access to the home; Fischer can be out working in your home during the day and update you as the project progresses.  For a multi-day project, it is common that we put lockboxes with a key near the door and our electricians can enter securely while you are at work.

This depends on the nature of the work.  Fischer electricians are trained in a least invasive approach method and they will endeavor to avoid putting holes in your wall unless absolutely necessary to complete the electrical work.  The need to put holes in the wall depends on many factors including the layout of your home and what access points you have (attic, crawl space, basement, and other).  In the case of a complete re-wire, we will start by doing a detailed walk-through and coming up with a plan for the project and identifying all access points.  We will identify in advance if the need for any wall holes exists.  In the event that we do need to put holes in the wall, Fischer also has a repair team on staff that can come out and fix any damage.  Fischer’s team will patch any holes in the wall and also complete any re-painting necessary.  Upon completion of the project your walls will be like Fischer was never there.
